One of my favorite cities to visit is Portland, OR because I never feel the pressure to always be doing something. OK, so I’ve only been to Portland twice: first in 2016 and more recently in 2018. Each time I went, I didn’t have the nagging feeling of “oh, I need to do this” or “I must go here.” That’s not to say that Portland is boring, rather, I feel that it speaks more to the easy-going PNW culture that I tend to look upon with such curiosity.
My agenda: coffee, books, and beer. Yep, just those three things. Traveling to Portland is so simple and relaxing. So here I will list my fave places that made my Portlandia weekend:
Between the holidays (Christmas and New Year), I went to Guam for vacation with the fam. I’d never been to Guam before, but I was expecting to see something like Hawaii — like Waikiki. Turns out it was only a little bit like Hawaii.
We visited three beaches while we were there: Tamuning; Coco Palm Garden Beach; and Tanguisson. I spent most of my time at Tamuning and even got to do some reading there.
I’ve already rambled about my quick weekend in Toronto in my previous post, Toronto + Niagara Falls, but I felt like I missed something in my attempt to keep the entry short and sweet. Given that I have now visited Toronto twice this year (which prompted some of my friends to think that I had moved there), I now give myself an excuse to make a second entry for the purpose of listing my Toronto faves.
